Final scenes of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows leave Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson 'sad and devastated'
THE SPOTLIGHT didn't just shine on Twilight at the National Movie Awards in London last night.
It was also a good night for the Harry Potter series which collected the family film trophy for Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince as well as a special recognition award.
Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the young wizard, said: "It's fantastic for us, six films in with two more to go, to still be getting this kind of recognition."
Backstage at the Royal Festival Hall, the young stars of Harry Potter became emotional as they relived the past ten years together.
"This award means so much to us because it's voted for by the fans," said London-born Daniel, 20.
The cast are currently filming the final scenes for the last instalment in the blockbuster franchise, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.
"I'm devastated. It's going to be very sad - but at the same time, it will be exciting. It's the end of a chapter," said Radcliffe.
Emma Watson, who stars as Hermione Granger, looked emotional as they went up for the second time, to claim the special recognition award presented by Kylie Minogue.
"There will be a huge hole in my heart when it's over," she admitted.
Backstage, she added: "It feels like someone's dying."
Directed by David Yates, Part 1 of Deathly Hallows is released on November 19 and Part 2 on July 15, 2011.
